Webflow has bought Vidoso, an AI content-generation platform, in a move the company says will strengthen its marketing suite.

The acquisition puts an AI-driven content tool inside Webflow's product lineup. Webflow, known for its visual website-building platform, has been widening its scope from pure site design toward a broader set of marketing tools. Vidoso becomes the latest piece of that expansion.

So what does Vidoso actually do? The platform generates content using artificial intelligence. For Webflow customers, the logic is straightforward: teams that build and host sites on Webflow also need to fill those sites with material — landing page copy, campaign assets, ongoing content. Buying a generation tool means Webflow can offer that capability directly, rather than sending users to third-party AI writing products.

Neither company has published the deal price. TechCrunch, which first reported the acquisition, did not disclose financial terms, and Webflow has not announced them publicly.

For Webflow, the purchase fits a familiar pattern in the web platform market. Site builders and content management vendors have spent the past two years bolting generative AI features onto their core products, either through in-house development or acquisitions. Buying an established AI platform rather than building one from scratch shortens the timeline. Vidoso brings a working product, and presumably a team with hands-on experience shipping AI generation features to real users.

The strategic target is clear. Webflow's customer base skews toward marketing teams, agencies, and businesses that manage their web presence without heavy engineering support. Those users increasingly expect AI assistance baked into the tools they already pay for. A separate AI writing subscription is friction; an integrated feature is a retention lever. If a customer generates content, builds the page, and publishes it all inside Webflow, they have one less reason to churn.

It also matters for competitive positioning. The website platform category is crowded, and AI content generation has become table stakes rather than a differentiator. Vendors without a credible AI story risk looking behind the curve to buyers comparing platforms. Acquiring Vidoso lets Webflow answer that question with a product rather than a roadmap slide.

What happens to Vidoso's existing customers remains to be seen. Acquisitions of this kind typically end one of two ways: the standalone product gets absorbed into the buyer's platform, or it winds down as the technology and team fold into the acquirer's engineering organization. Webflow has not spelled out the integration plan in the initial announcement.

For Vidoso, the exit lands it inside a platform with an established customer base — a distribution channel most standalone AI content startups would struggle to match on their own. The market for standalone AI writing tools has proven brutal, with dozens of well-funded competitors and no shortage of free alternatives from large model providers. Joining a platform vendor offers a route to relevance that independent operation increasingly does not.

Webflow customers should watch for three things as the integration proceeds. First, pricing: whether Vidoso's capabilities land inside existing Webflow plans or sit behind a new paid tier. Second, workflow: whether generated content flows directly into Webflow's designer and publishing tools or lives in a separate surface. Third, quality controls: how the platform handles editing, review, and brand-voice consistency — the parts of AI content generation that determine whether output is usable or landfill.

No launch date for integrated features has been announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

We will update this story as Webflow publishes integration details and pricing.
