Treasure AI on Tuesday moved email pricing from send volume to customer clicks and launched Personalization Studio for real-time website personalization at Agentic World 2026 in Miami.

The company will now bill email based on engagement actions such as clicks, not on the number of messages a brand sends. Treasure AI did not publish pricing tiers, rates or a start date.

What did Treasure AI ship in Miami?

Two products. Personalization Studio, available now to every Treasure AI customer, sits inside the company's Personalization AI Suite on its Agentic Experience Platform. Marketers pick a page, choose a content spot, select an audience, and let AI propose creative. They review, adjust and launch.

The tool combines batch profile data — audiences, loyalty status, purchase history — with real-time behavioral signals. Treasure AI says the product delivers sub-second personalization without a separate profile store, export-and-sync step or data pipeline. The workspace also connects to brands' existing digital asset management systems.

Why price email by clicks?

Chief Product and Growth Officer Rafa Flores framed the move as a rebuke to SaaS-style billing. He said he had grown tired of hearing SaaS was dead while vendors kept charging the way SaaS companies always have.

"If it's dead, kill your pricing," Flores told CMSWire. "If let's say we go with it, and SaaS is dead, why does every company charge it like a SaaS company?"

In a written statement, he added: "As the industry talks about outcome-based pricing, the real test is whether a platform's economics align with the value it helps create."

Flores tied the model to a view that AI models and customer data are both becoming commodities. "AI is going to get commoditized, whether those guys like it or not," he said. Charging per click, he argued, tells customers that "our intelligence is so good that your emails will be clicked on."

How does Personalization Studio differ from a CDP-to-Adobe Target stack?

Flores estimated that more than half of Treasure AI customers doing web personalization use Adobe Target. They build segments in the Treasure AI CDP, then push them to Adobe for execution. That workflow personalizes on the second visit, he said, because one system has to call another.

Personalization Studio reads audiences and behavioral signals directly, with no export step. Known visitors get personalized content on the first visit, in real time, when Treasure AI holds a record for them. The product runs on Treasure AI's Real-Time 2.0 decision engine.

"Most platforms were built to store data. We were built to activate it on behalf of a human being, in the right moment, in a way that feels like the brand actually knows you," Flores said.

Migration takes little labor for customers whose segments already live in Treasure AI. Flores recommended brands moving off another tool test live campaigns one at a time.

Who is Treasure AI targeting with click-based email?

Flores named Braze and Klaviyo as the email service providers he expects to feel pressure. Pay-per-click is standard in advertising, he said, but no true ESP has applied it to email.

"We made a choice; it's a risky bet. The bet is made, so show me your cards now," he said.

Where does this fit in the outcome-pricing shift?

Buyer pressure on vendors is real. Gartner, as cited in Deloitte's 2026 Technology, Media and Telecommunications Predictions, expects at least 40% of enterprise SaaS spend to shift toward usage-, agent- or outcome-based pricing by 2030.

Customer service software moved first. Zendesk introduced per-resolution pricing for its AI agents in 2024. Intercom charges per resolved conversation for its Fin AI agent.

Attribution is still the hard part. Outcome-based pricing works best where results are cleanly measurable, such as resolved support tickets or completed workflows. Customers themselves have run into budgeting problems with outcome pricing in the AI era.

What is Treasure AI's background?

Treasure Data launched in 2011. The company finished an 18-month transformation in April 2026 and rebranded as Treasure AI, repositioning itself from CDP vendor to a fully agentic experience platform.

Milestones along the way:

  • October 2025: AI Marketing Cloud unveiled, with Nestlé as an early adopter
  • January 2026: Marketing Super Agent launched
  • February 2026: Treasure Code, an AI-native CLI, reached general availability and now reaches roughly a quarter of the customer base

CEO Kaz Ohta and Flores position Treasure AI against Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe's marketing and data suites. They claim the platform can cut costs by up to 50%, leaning on the data foundation and the Diamond Record identity resolution framework.

The company is headquartered in Santa Clara County, California, and targets global consumer brands in automotive, consumer packaged goods, financial services and retail.
